Confessions of a coffee addict: Review - Pure Café
Let me start off by getting on top of my chair and proclaiming for all to hear - I am a coffee addict. I’m not referring to the infernal, instant rubbish. I am talking about the good, high end, life sustaining java that’s my drug of choice. Now that we got that out of the way…
I recently made a caffeine pilgrimage to Pure Café in Pretoria. Man, am I glad I did. Enjoying the sunny African skies, I was in my element sipping on a perfectly brewed espresso. It had a sweet base, a full body of flavor, topped with beautiful crema, but still had a kick sure to rouse any comatose patient. A delicious double latte and a 10/10 cappuccino also followed during the course of the afternoon.
As to the interior design of the café, I was impressed by the seamless fusion of modern and vintage. The unique selection of crockery spoke volumes to the attention to detail and love poured into this place. My overall impression: Trendy without being pretentious. Well designed, yet warm and approachable.
I was also lucky enough to have a sit-down chat with Renier, the owner and co-founder of Pure. His passion and enthusiasm for coffee was infectious.
Needless to say, Pure Café should be added to every coffee lover’s regular haunts.
Honest, refreshing and well worth a few hours of your day.
